Cancer in children is rare. Today, more than 80% of children affected by cancer in Switzerland survive. The most frequent types of cancer in children are Leukemias, tumors of the central nervous system (CNS), and Lymphomas. Some diagnoses can be more common in boys or girls or in different age groups. On this page, you can find tables and figures on the number of children diagnosed with cancer (incidence) by diagnostic groups, gender and age and their chances of survival . The Federal Office of Statistics provides further figures on incidence of childhood cancer and the number of children who have died of cancer over time (mortality).
